a. Vote:
Rule Addition
Fouling: A foul has occurred
if the cue ball scratches and the shooter or teammate picks-up the one ball clearly
over the line. The opposing team will have the option of placing
the one ball on the spot or putting it back, as close as possible, to where the
foul occurred. Passed
b. Vote - What happens if a team wins the first half and finishes in
the bottom seven teams during the second half?
Suggestion - If a team wins the first half, they should not be allowed
to play in the “best of the rest” for the second half.
If a team wins the first half and they
finish in the bottom seven teams in the second half they will not be allowed to
play in the playoffs. Passed.
c.
Vote - How are funds paid
out if a team wins both the first and second half of the season? Should a team receive both first and second
place money? Traditionally if a team
wins both the first and second half, they have only gotten the first place
prize. It was suggested that if two
different teams wins second place then they will play off for second place in
the league. If the same team finishes
second in both halves they will be second.
Passed.
d. Update
– Hall of fame committee – Invite to the banquet, at no cost to the player, the
old players who are not currently playing in the league. Several of these will be inducted into the
hall of fame.
e.
Update – Banquet committee - Suggested the
banquet be hosted at the Cercle National because they
have the back yard, the hall, and traditionally they have opened the entire club
to everyone. The Davignon
and the Deerhead, which would also have been viable
options, will be hosting the singles and doubles tournaments.

Top four and Best of Rest playoffs were
viewed as “unfair” as the top teams didn’t all get a home team advantage as
they have in the past. For example, the Davignon, which had two teams finish in the top four, only
got to host one playoff match instead of at least two as would have
traditionally occurred. Since we
probably won’t be doing this next year we are not going to change anything at
this time.
