Business:
1. Banquet Committee Update – Mark Zombec has been unavailable and is not answering calls to
confirm banquet so we decided to hold this meeting to talk about changing the
caterer. Eric Bourgeois spoke with Mike Delisle and Jeff Yule about catering the banquet. They provided us with a “BBQ style” menu and
it was voted to accept. All other
aspects of the banquet will remain the same.
Contact Sue Novak if you still need
tickets or need to turn in tickets. Call
or Text 315-3921 and she will get tickets to you or pick them up.
2. Summer Singles League – Billy Gibson and
Ron Michaud presented information on the Summer Singles League. A team will
consist of 5-8 players. A maximum point
score to be posted by each team to be decided at first meeting. Handicap will be 3-7 for players with 75% of
the difference being given to the lower rated 5-player team. No more than two 7 rated players can play for
a team any night. Five players per
night; players will pay $5 each time they play ($25/team/night). All money collected will be paid out at end
of league as there will be no banquet.
The Summer Singles League will not be sanctioned as part of the QCPL at
this point so clubs will not be paying for a team. If it goes well and everyone wants to
continue the Summer Singles League, then we can discuss adding to the
QCPL.
First Summer Singles League meeting
will be April 25th at 7PM at Cercle to finalize number of teams,
schedule, what night to play, how to collect dues and turn in money, etc. Anyone wanting to have a team please attend
meeting. If you have 5-8 players but no
club, come to the meeting we will help you set up with a club.
Old
Business:
1. Hall of Fame – The three names
provided were approved by the board. Sue
will create the certificates and frame.
Paul will notify the three players so we can get a guest count. Since there are only three inductees, the
QCPL will pay for their guest’s meal.
Respectfully,
Sue Novak
Secretary
