Paul Cere started the meeting at 7:15 pm as Rodney Mudgett was late in arriving.  This meeting is just to find out how many teams will be participating in the league, to set up the next meeting where fees and handicaps will be established and to set a start date for the league.  The following items were discussed

1.        The league will start on September 12th.  As soon as the number of teams is finalized I will create the schedule.  It will take about two hours.

2.        We have at least 15 and possibly 16 teams for the 2014-2015 season.  These are Alpine 1, Cercle 1 & 2, Deerhead 1 & 2, Davignon 1-4, Workmen’s, British American, Eastside, My Friends 1 & 2, Fish 1.  We still have not heard from Rimmon and a call was placed to the Canadian.  If your club will be sponsoring more teams than mentioned above, please leave a message for Paul Cere at the Davignon Club at 623-8239 or leave message for Sue Davis at 627-6347.

3.        It was suggested that team fee be raised to $200 per team.  This will be voted on at the next meeting.  Since some captains are not members of their clubs board of directors, please go to your clubs and make sure this is acceptable to the clubs.  Team dues will be payable by the end of October and will go to the prize fund at the end of the season.

4.        The next meeting will be Thursday September 4th at 7 PM at the Davignon Club.  All teams should come with a temporary roster as we will be setting starting handicaps. The same handicap system from the 2013-2014 will be used again this year and teams can exceed 30 points with the handicap added.  However, if a team exceeds 30 points 3 times in a half, their handicap will automatically drop three points without the need for a special meeting.

If team captains would like to email Sue Davis their roster, it can be sent to sukie93@yahoo.com.  Please send before Sept 3rd so that I can start a roster sheet and have it available for the meeting on the 4th.

5.        Workmen’s is the most eligible for the Singles.  They are very interested.  They have a small parking lot which holds 8-10 vehicles and a second lot that holds about 35 vehicles.  They have plenty of space for tables and will have food available for the tournament.   They will come to the next meeting with definite answer from their board as to whether they will host the Singles Tournament.  Sue will email Tony Cote the Tournament Guidelines and Requirements.

6.        Cercle is most eligible for the Doubles Tournament.  They definitely want it.

7.        We brought up the idea of all team’s players paying $1 if you play on Friday night ($10/team/night).  This money will go towards a banquet at the end of the year.  If we have 15 teams it would raise $4200 not including playoffs.  Playoffs would bring in an additional $280 for a total of about $4480.  If we have more teams it would just mean more money for the banquet. This will be voted on at the next meeting.

8.        Minutes will be posted on the web site.

9.        It was voted last year that Sue Davis should be paid for her services.  It was never put in the minutes but I believe that this was set at $50.  Paul Cere asked if I had been paid for the 2013-2014 season; since I have not been this will be done.  It was suggested that the amount be increased, this will be voted on at the next meeting.

10.   Ron Michaud mentioned that next year we will need to pay for the web site.  Ron suggested that we again pay the multi-year fee.

Agenda for the next meeting:

1.      Initial Rosters,

2.      Set handicaps,

3.      Discuss banquet,

4.      Discuss and set fee for Sue Davis,

5.      Set up Prize fund for 1st and 2nd place.

Meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.

Respectfully,

Sue Davis
