2013-2014 League

Attending:  Hank Attanasio (Alpine), Rich Rice (Cercle 1), Rodney Mudgett (Davignon 1 - President), Bob Paquin (Davignon 2), Paul Cere (Davignon 3 – Vice President), Rich Soares (Davignon 4), Paul Martin (Deerhead 2), Kim Janelle (Eastside), Lenny Pappas Jr (Fish 2), Keith Laliberte (My Friends), Frank Labrie (Rimmon), Ron Michaud (Pericles), Eric Novak, Larry Blais, Ray Paquin  (Treasurer), Sue Davis (Secretary). Old Business: 

1.    Enforce rule that in order to host a tournament adequate parking must be available and food must be provided on site.  Tabled to another meeting.

 

2.    Fee for each team.  The fee will remain at $150 per team payable to the QCPL by the fourth week of play.  Checks to be sent to Ray Paquin c/o Davignon Club.

 

3.    Choose site for Singles.  Eastside promised tournament (probably doubles) at meeting during 2012-2013 season. – Tabled to another meeting.

 

New Business:

 

1.    Set initial rosters.  Determine handicaps.  Handicaps were set for the first four weeks of play and will be adjusted before league play on week five therefore the next meeting will be after week four league play.

 

2.    Schedules – My Friends requested that they be able to play away the first two weeks.  Sue was able to make this happen with the schedule for the 16 team schedule. Cercle 2 did not show for meeting and no updated roster was available.  Rich Rice stated that as of last Friday they only had 6 players on the roster so we should drop the team.  Also I received a phone call from the Sweeney Post and they stated that no one had approached them about having a team so they were not going to have one this year.  A new schedule was created with only 14 teams.  Sue forgot to take into account the request for My Friends to play away the first two weeks.  As a result she spoke with both Keith (My Friends) and Hank (Alpine) to swap home sites for the first week in each half.  Both captains agreed to this.

 

3.    Rules – updated rules will be on the web site.

 

4.    Initial rosters will be on web site.

 

5.    It was discussed having players pay $2 each week to be added to the treasury towards a banquet.  After much discussion it was decided that the captains would ask their players their feelings on this.  It will be discussed at the next meeting.

 

Next Meeting:  Next meeting at Cercle National on October 1st at 7:00 pm to update handicaps and set site of tournaments.
